    A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.

    Observation. The bottom edges and doors of two wooden storage cupboards are showing signs of wear and tear. One laminate side of a wooden shelf is peeling at the base, and there is dust build-up on some areas of the counter and on the TV stand at children’s height.

    Corrective action. Manager said regular dusting will be conducted & licensing will be notified when the above items will be repaired.

    Observation. A care plan for one child does not contain all of the instructions staff need to follow. The manager was able to describe the actions staff would take.

    Corrective action. Please ensure all actions staff need to take with a child who requires extra support are written in a child's care plan.
