    A licensee must do all of the following: (b) operate the community care facility in a manner that will promote (i) the health, safety and dignity of persons in care,

    Observation. During today's inspection Licensing observed there were four children under the age of 3 years. As per CCLR Schedule E , there can only be three children under the age of 3 years. This is a repeat contravention.

    Corrective action. Licensee will send a compliance plan by November 6 2025.

  • OR SUPERVISION

    A licensee must ensure that children are supervised at all times by a person who is an educator, an assistant or a responsible adult. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): During inspection, Licensing observed a volunteer supervising 3 children in the play room. Licensing discussed with the licensee that volunteers cannot provide care. The Licensee switched with the volunteer to provide supervision.

    Corrective action. Licensee said children will be supervised by a qualified staff at all times.

    Observation. One staff ECEA certificate expired in August 2025.

    Corrective action. Licensee said she will ask the staff to apply for certificate renewal with the ECE registry.

    Observation. A minimum of two character references were not obtained for the volunteer.

    Corrective action. Licensee said she will obtain 2 records of character references for the volunteer.

    Observation. This month, there was one day when there were four children under the age of 3 years old. There will also be up to five children under the age of 3 years old on Mondays. As per schedule E of the CCLR, there can only be three children under the age of 3.

    Corrective action. The Manager will send a compliance plan by January 20th.

    A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.

    Observation. Upon inspection of outdoor play area, it was observed that a shelf being used as a barrier is no longer secure, posing a tipping hazard. The Manager is aware of this and has plans to fix this during winter break.

    Corrective action. Please ensure facility, furniture, equipment and fixtures are clean and in good repair.
