Corrective action. The Manager will obtain more food and water sufficient for 72 hours.

Observation. Doctor's information was not obtained for one child's file.

Observation. A staff's file did not have documentation of character references for the staff. The staff said that the Manager has this information in her email but was unable to provide this information during the inspection.
Corrective action. The Manager will print out the staff's references and include them in the file.

- EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.
Observation. Exposed drywall is accessible to children in the main play room and one side of a child's chair was not attached to the rest of the chair.
Corrective action. The chair was removed during this inspection. Please make sure children do not have access to any areas of exposed drywall.
11020 - CCLR s.13(2) - EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.
Observation. The Licensing Officer observed a water table on top of a large stuffed toy on the top of a cupboard in the play room. The items were unstable and may fall on the children.
Corrective action. Please ensure all equipment is stored in a way that does not pose a risk to children.

A licensee must (a) ensure that each child has healthy food and drink according to the Canada's Food Guide.
Observation. The fridge used to store children's food was 8c. This is repeat non-compliance and was noted on routine inspection #WBET-BHMMXG.
Corrective action. Please ensure the fridge temperature is between 0-4c

A licensee must have all of the following: (b) an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.
Observation. The facility emergency kit does not contain enough supplies for all of the children for 72 hours.
Corrective action. Please ensure there are enough supplies (food/water etc) for all of the children for up to 72 hours. The Licensing Officer recommended that food items such as granola bars, fruit cups etc be in the kit and that the Licensee makes sure any items in the kit have not expired.

A licensee must keep, for each child requiring extra support, a current care plan showing the following information: (b) the courses of action recommended by health care professionals to address the needs of the child requiring extra support.
Observation. A care plan for one child does not include the symptoms that need to be exhibited before medication is administered.
Corrective action. Please ensure all care plans include the symptoms a child may exhibit before staff need to take action.
19220 - CCLR s.58(1)(b) - STAFFING
Without limiting subsection (2), if the duties of an employee include care for a child who requires extra support, a licensee must ensure that the employee has the training and experience and demonstrates the skills necessary to care for that child.
Observation. A staff person has been hired to work with a child who requires extra support. There is no evidence in the file that this person has the training or experience to work with the child.
Corrective action. Please ensure that all staff who are hired to work with children who require extra support have the appropriate experience and training.
12130 - CCLR s.19(3) - STAFFING
A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (d) copies of any diplomas, certificates or other evidence of the person's training and skills.
Observation. Files for 5 staff were reviewed. Certificates for 2 staff had not been validated. This is repeat no -compliance and was noted on Routine Inspection #WBET-BHMMXG.
Corrective action. Please ensure all ECE and ECEA certificates are validated.
