    Observation. An unlocked cabinet in the bathroom contained Lysol wipes and is accessible to children.

    Corrective action. The Manager said that she will remove the wipes and store them on a high shelf which will be inaccessible to children.

    A licensee must ensure that children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to the health or safety of a child.

    Observation. Adult vitamins were accessible to children in the kitchen area. The baby gate that blocks access to this area was not in place.

    Corrective action. Please ensure children do not have access to any substances that may be harmful.

    Corrective action. To ensure safe storage of food the fridge temperature must be between 0-4c. The fridge temperature was lowered during this inspection.

    Observation. The Licensee has been absent from the facility for more than 30 consecutive days. The staff person who is operating the facility was not able to describe any of the facility polices, was not aware where a copy of the policies could be found and was not aware of where to find a copy of the Community Care & Assisted Living Act (CCALA) or the Child Care Licensing Regulation (CCLR).

    Corrective action. In order to operate the facility in compliance with the legislation and to ensure the health, safety and dignity of children in care, staff need to be aware of facility polices and where to access the policies, the CCALA and the CCLR.
