EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): In the outdoor play area, it was observed that there were screws protruding from the side of the house. The Manager said that a hose box used to be stored there but it came off.
Corrective action. The Manager removed the screws.

Observation. A site specific criminal record check was not available for 1 staff. There was a CRC available, but it was from another agency.
Corrective action. The Manager will apply for a CRC from the CRRP for the staff.

A licensee must keep current records of each of the following: (c) a record respecting compliance with section 22 (2) (b) and (c) [emergency training and equipment].
Observation. There were no fire drill records available. The Manager began operating in October 2023 and said the fire drill was practiced in October but it was not recorded. Discussion was had regarding monthly practice and recording of the fire drill, as well as posting this record in a prominent place.
Corrective action. Ensure the fire drill is practiced and recorded monthly.
