    Corrective action. The Licensee will ensure a transportation policy is available and that parental permission to transport children is obtained.

    A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee is satisfied, based on the information available to the licensee under subsection (1) and the licensee's or, in the case of an employee who is not the manager, the manager's own observations on meeting the person, that the person (c) has the training and experience and demonstrates the skills necessary to carry out the duties assigned to the manager or employee.

    Observation. During this inspection the manager stated she was not aware of the facility policies and was not aware of where to find copies of the Community Care and Assisted Living Act or the Child Care Licensing Regulation.

    Corrective action. The Licensee will ensure that the facility manager is aware of and can implement all facility policies and that she is aware of where to find copies of the legislation.

  • EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS

    A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

    Observation. Children have access to a vacuum plugged into the wall with a cord that poses a tripping hazard in the nap room and a mice bait station in a play room.

    Corrective action. Please ensure children do not have access to these items.

    A licensee must establish a program to instruct children in, and to practise the rules of, health and hygiene.

    Observation. The following were observed: Children did not wash hands before snack. A child did not wash their hands after a diaper change. The change pad was not sanitized after a diaper change.

    Corrective action. Children must wash hands before eating, children must wash hands after a diaper change and the change pad must be sanitized after each use.
