  The licensee must (b) review the care plan at least once each year with a parent of the child requiring extra support and any person requested by the parent.

  Observation. A care plan for one child was not reviewed annually with the parent or any person requested to by the parent.

  Corrective action. The manager will update the child's care plan with the parents.

• MEDICATION

  A licensee must ensure that an employee who supervises a child who self-administers medication documents the administration of the medication (a) in the child's care plan.

  Observation. Staff are not documenting when a child self-administers their medicated cream.

  Corrective action. Staff will ensure that they document each time a child self-administers medicated cream.

  Observation. During this inspection Licensing observed two epi pens that had expired and one inhaler that had expired.

  Corrective action. All mediations required in a child's care plan must have a current expiry date.

  Corrective action. All care plans must be reviewed a minimum of once every twelve months with the parent or persons requested by the parent.

  A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (h) any special instruction respecting the child's diet, medication, participation in a program of activities, or other matter relevant to the child's care, (i) given by the child's parent to the licensee in writing.

  Observation. One child self-administers medicated cream. There are no written instructions from the parent regarding the administration of the cream.

  Corrective action. A written instructions must be obtained from the parents for this child to self-administer medicated cream .

• EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS

  A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

  Observation. Licensing observed in the 3 classrooms, children's bedding with bed sheets to be touching. Licensing had a discussion about developing a system for storing bedding to help promote hygiene practices. This is a repeat contravention from inspection #KTKK-C6FUJC.

  Corrective action. Please ensure a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

• STAFFING

  A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (a) a criminal record check for the person.

  Observation. Licensing reviewed 5 staff files and 1 file was missing evidence of a current criminal record check.

  Corrective action. Please ensure staff files contain evidence of a valid criminal record check

• EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS

  A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

  Observation. Upon inspection, licensing officer observed the nap mats stacked with sheets on one another in the GCC 30 month-school age program. Manager confirmed that these are the sheets that were used at nap time.

  Corrective action. Please ensure mats are disinfected after each use.
