  Observation. Licensing reviewed the records for a substitute employee and found that the first aid certification although current had not been validated by the Licensee when not signed by the instructor as per Child Care Licensing Regulation Schedule C. Validating employee first aid certificates is important to ensure they can handle emergencies and keep children safe. Submit by January 19, 2025, confirmation all first aid certificates for employees have been validated if not signed by the instructor and how the system has been revised to ensure compliance is maintained.

• C4.1 - Are facility records current and complete?Non-critical

  Observation. The review of the facility’s documentation identified inconsistencies in recording incident times and parent notification times in the minor log. Additionally, a review of child records revealed missing information such as the doctor’s name and phone number. The Licensing Officer discussed with the Manager that if a family does not currently have a doctor, this should be documented accordingly and not left blank. Furthermore, attendance records were found to be incomplete, as the time out for one child was not recorded on multiple occasions. Accurate documentation of this information is not only important for regulatory compliance, but crucial for maintaining emergency preparedness and ensuring effective emergency response. Submit by January 19, 2025, a confirmation that all staff have been informed of the required information to be recorded in the facility’s minor log moving forward. Include confirmation that all child records have been reviewed to address any missing required details, including the missing records for attendance, and provide a description of the system the Licensee will implement to maintain ongoing compliance.
