• C7.1 - Is the facility safe, sanitary, free from hazards, in good repair, and appropriate for the age and development of children?Non-critical

  Observation. The Licensing Officer observed in the kitchen area open to the Group Child Care 30 Months to School Age program a lower cupboard storing cleaning supplies. Having cleaning supplies accessible to young children increases the chance of accidental ingestion of toxic chemicals, which can cause poisoning, burns, or respiratory problems. Proper storage that ensures children have no access to such supplies is essential to prevent such accidents. The Licensing Officer informed both the Site Manager and Licensee Contact of the concern when it was identified during the inspection and requested it immediately be addressed as well as submitting confirmation of corrective action by the end of the day on July 23, 2025.

• C3.2 - Are persons qualified and appropriately replaced?Critical

  Observation. Staff records must include evidence of validation for any Licences to Practice with the ECE Registry.

• C4.1 - Are facility records current and complete?Non-critical

  Observation. During today's inspection, Licensing reviewed processes the facility implements for some children requiring extra support. The information received indicate care plans are required. Licensing will provide resources to assist the Licensee and Manager in developing a system to identify when a care plan is required and the required information to include in a care plan. Licensing discussed that some support workers provided by the Licensee for 1:1 support of some children in care are current facility staff. Licensing was informed that these support staff are extra when in the support role and not part of the staff to child ratio. Please ensure the following if any support staff provide direct care or supervision of children while in care of the Licensee: all required employee records are complete and available for review, orientation to facility policies and procedures including the fire drill system and emergency plan have been completed and recorded, and the support staff hold the required qualifications to maintain compliance with staff to child ratios for that service type if they are with the child but away from the other staff or group. These procedures should be detailed in the child's individual care plan as well. Please submit to Licensing by the follow up date requested not only confirmation care plans have been developed for any children currently in care requiring extra support, but also details regarding the system the Licensee developed to ensure compliance is maintained for developing and implementing care plans at the facility.
