    Observation. Licensing observed that four out of nine staff files reviewed were missing validation from the ECE Registry. Manager was unaware that ECEA certified staff were also required to be validated

    Observation. Licensing observed garbage bags stored in a bathroom drawer, accessible to children.

    The licensee must (a) develop the care plan in consultation with a parent of the child requiring extra support and any person requested by the parent.

    Observation. Care plan provided for a child did not contain a parent signature and on another care plan, it was not clear what action should be taken to support a child with additional needs. This was further discussed to ensure accurate information is available at all times to guide staff.

    Corrective action. Please ensure care plans are appropriately developed with parents to include all necessary information to guide staff.

    A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (c) daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure.

    Observation. On review of attendance records, Licensing observed that one child was transitioning to another program and had not been signed out of the first program. This was discussed to be a concern should there be an emergency for location of the child.

    Corrective action. Please ensure attendance records are accurate at all times.

    Observation. On review of 4 staff files, Licensing observed that two were missing CRC's. Manager said that one new staff has completed the sharing results form and another staff CRC is probably on her phone. Staff are unable to work with children without a valid and current CRC in place.

    Corrective action. Please ensure all employee documents are obtained prior to working at the facility to ensure children's safety. Licensing will accept a health and safety plan to be provided by the Manager.

    Observation. On review of 4 staff files, Licensing observed that one staff did not have references on file and another only had 1 reference. Discussed further as to the requirement of references to be obtained prior to employment and more than one being required by legislation.

    Corrective action. Please ensure staff files are complete prior to working on site.
