    Observation. Outdoor play space: not sufficient protective surfacing around the play equipment, i.e. slide.

    Corrective action. Ensure that sufficient protective surfacing is around the play equipment to reduce risk of injury from falls.

  • EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS

    A licensee must ensure that children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to the health or safety of a child.

    Observation. The following was observed during the inspection: -Plastic bags were located in an unlocked cupboard in the washroom. This was located at the children's level -A storage room was unlocked. The Manager's bag was located on the floor within easy reach of the children.

    Corrective action. Please ensure the children do not have access to any objects or substances that may be hazardous to their health and safety

  • EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS

    A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

    Observation. During the inspection the following was observed: -One bottle of bleach and water was being used to clean surfaces in the childcare and the washroom/diaper changing area. This could cause a potential for cross-contamination. Please ensure to use two bottles of bleach and water. Please correct this by October 25, 2023 -The climbers in the outdoor play area were placed within a distance of under 6 feet. A 6 foot fall radius must be observed around the climbers. -Several tree stumps and a wooden structure, in the outdoor play area were placed at the edge of the fence. Beyond the fence is a roadway. This could present a potential hazard.

    Corrective action. Please ensure a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times.

  • HYGIENE AND COMMUNICABLE DISEASE

    A licensee must establish a program to instruct children in, and to practise the rules of, health and hygiene.

    Observation. During the inspection Licensing observed that the Licensee has constructed a wooden structure in the outdoor play area. The wooden structure contains a door and a chair and a children's potty. The Licensee discussed how she was using the potty chair in case children needed to use the washroom while in the outdoor play area. Licensing and the Licensee discussed the importance of using the toilet inside the facility and the need to have access to a sink with running water to wash hands to practice proper hygiene after using the washroom.

    Corrective action. Please ensure to use the washroom inside the facility to establish a program to instruct children in and practice the rules of, health and hygiene.
