A licensee must keep current records of each of the following: (c) a record respecting compliance with section 22 (2) (b) and (c) [emergency training and equipment].

Observation. Although a yearly emergency drill was completed and recorded for the month of October 2025, there was no record for a fire drill and the manager confirmed that it was not completed. This item is a repeat contravention on routine inspection #MZIN-D8UV7S 06-Sep-2024.

Corrective action. Ensure that fire drills are completed and recorded monthly.

A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.

Observation. Licensing observed the following outdoors in the play area: - uneven concrete ground surface in some areas, which could potentially be a tripping hazard - pieces of concrete missing from the steps

Corrective action. Ensure that the facility is in good repair

Observation. Licensing observed the following: - missing fire drill record for July and August 2024

Corrective action. Ensure to record and practice monthly fire and yearly emergency drills.

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (a) name, sex, date of birth, medical insurance plan number and immunization status.

Observation. Licensing observed that 2 children did not have their immunization record status on file.

Corrective action. Ensure that children's files are complete.

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (c) daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure.

Observation. Licensing observed that absent children are not indicated on the daily attendance record.

Corrective action. Ensure to keep a daily record of children who are absent.

A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

Observation. The sandbox was uncovered.

Corrective action. The sandbox must be covered when not in use to prevent water, animals, rodents, pests, & other debris to enter.

A licensee must keep current records for each child showing (a) the information set out in subsection (2), (b) if applicable, the information and agreements set out in subsections (2.1) and (2.2), and (c) the consents referred to in subsection (3).

Observation. 2 children lacked their records.

Corrective action. Children's files are required by their 1st day of care.
