Observation. Upon inspection, licensing observed the followings: - Twenty-four nap cots in the 30 month to school age program were stacked on top of each other to a height of 4.5 feet and stored in the main play area, which is accessible to children. This poses a potential hazard

Observation. During discussions with the Manager, it was noted that educators, in under 36 months program, have not conducted the emergency plan drill at least annually.

- EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.
Observation. Licensing observed the following in the outdoor play area: -An outdoor kitchen abutted the fence. This is a repeat contravention from inspection #CLAN-CP3RSL. A step drop off to a stairwell was located on the other side of the fence. -The landscape fabric in the play area was showing. This could cause a potential tripping hazard. -A playground check was not completed for the day prior to the children entering the play area.
Corrective action. Please ensure there is a system in place to regularly monitor the outdoor play area to ensure a healthy and safe environment.
11010 - CCLR s.13(1) - EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must supply equipment, furniture and supplies that are (b) located so as not to block or hamper an exit in the case of fire or other emergency.
Observation. Licensing observed multiple items partially blocking the emergency exit.
Corrective action. Please ensure to store items that are partially blocking exits to ensure a safe evacuation in case of emergency.

A licensee must ensure that children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to the health or safety of a child.
Observation. During the inspection the following was observed in the classroom: -A bottle of bleach and water was within easy reach of the children. This was not corrected by the date specified on the routine inspection. This is a repeat contravention. -Doors to the mechanical room were easy to open. A lock was observed but not applied. This was not corrected by the date specified on the routine inspection. This is a repeat contravention. Licensing reviewed the importance of having a daily system in place to check for hazards. -A heater in the washroom was hot to the touch. Licensing measured the temperature on the surface of the heater. The temperature was over 100 degrees Celsius. This was corrected during the inspection.
Corrective action. Please ensure children do not have access to any objects or substances that are harmful to their health and safety.

A licensee must ensure that children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to the health or safety of a child.
Observation. Licensing observed the following during the inspection: -Doors to the mechanical room and custodian room were unlocked and accessible. Various cleaning chemicals and bags of ice melt were observed on the floor and within easy reach of the children -The kitchen door was open. A bottle of bleach and several bottles of cleaner were under the sink. -Staff bags were accessible in the kitchen and the children's cubby area. These could present a potential hazard. -Two bottles of bleach and water were within easy reach in the room for children 0-36 months. -Laundry detergent was located on the washroom floor
Corrective action. Please ensure children do not have access to any objects or substances that may be hazardous to their health and safety
