- RECORDS AND REPORTING
A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (d) name and telephone number of a parent, medical practitioner and emergency contact.
Observation. Licensing reviewed 9 child files and found that 1 file was missing medical practitioner. This is repeat contravention from inspecgtion SSAU-CU5SAA3.
Corrective action. The Licensee contact explained that this information will be updated.
19100 - CCLR s.57(2)(d) - STAFFING
A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility as (a) an educator or an assistant unless the person holds a certificate issued under Division 2 [Employee Qualifications], which must be verified by the system maintained by the early childhood educator registry. (Educator or assistant certificate validation)
Observation. Upon review of 5 staff files, Licensing found that 2 files were missing validation. This is a repeat contravention from inspection SSAU-CU5SA3
Corrective action. The Licensee contact explained that she didn't know this was required for all staff and will validate certificates for all staff.

A licensee must ensure that any heated water accessible to children is heated to no more than 49° Celsius.
Observation. During the inspection of the physical facility it was observed that the water temperature measured 50.4 degrees Celsius.
Corrective action. Please ensure that the water is heated to no more that 49 degrees Celsius.

A licensee must display in a prominent place in the community care facility both the licence, including any terms or conditions of the licence, and the name of the manager.
Observation. During the routine inspection it was noted that the manager's name was not posted in a prominent location.
Corrective action. Please ensure the manager's name is posted in a prominent location.
10050 - CCLR s.11(1) - POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
A licensee must: (b) have an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.
Observation. During the routine inspection it was noted that the emergency kit had insufficient emergency supplies to prepare, mitigate, respond and recover from an emergency.
Corrective action. Please ensure that you have enough emergency supplies to prepare, mitigate, respond and recover from any emergency.
13020 - CCLR s.22(1)(b) - STAFFING
A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (b) character references in respect of the person.
Observation. During the inspection a total of 4 staff files were reviewed and it was noted that 3 of the staff had references available, however the references did not show evidence of being checked.
Corrective action. Please ensure that all references have been checked and evidence is provided.
