  A licensee must: (b) have an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.

  Observation. There was insufficient emergency supplies for 72 hours (food, water, emergency equipment).

  Corrective action. The Manager will obtain sufficient food and water and add other emergency equipment items in the bag.

  A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (c) a record of the person's work history.

  Observation. A record of the person's work history was not obtained for 1 staff.

  Corrective action. The Manager will obtain the staff's resume and keep a copy in their file.

  Observation. References were not obtained for 1 staff.

  Corrective action. The Manager will obtain references for the staff and keep the documents in their file.

  A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility as (a) an educator or an assistant unless the person holds a certificate issued under Division 2 [Employee Qualifications], which must be verified by the system maintained by the early childhood educator registry. (Educator or assistant certificate validation)

  Observation. Evidence of certificate validation from the system maintained by the Registry was not available in the staff files.

  Corrective action. The Manager will validate the ECE/ECEA certificates, print out the results and keep in each staff file.

  A licensee must display in a prominent place in the community care facility both the licence, including any terms or conditions of the licence, and the name of the manager.

  Observation. The Manager's name was not posted in a prominent place.

  Corrective action. Please ensure the Manager's name is posted in a prominent place in the facility.

  Observation. A care card number was not obtained for two children's files.

  Corrective action. Please ensure children's files are complete, including their care card number.

• RECORDS AND REPORTING

  A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (c) daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): The Manager's child was not signed in today. The Manager explained she did not know she needed to be signed in. Any child attending the program must be signed in and out.

  Corrective action. Please ensure children are signed in and out on the attendance sheet.
