  A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (a) name, sex, date of birth, medical insurance plan number and immunization status.

  Observation. Licensing reviewed 7 children's files and one child's file was missing a record of immunization.

  Corrective action. Ensure all children's files are complete.

• STAFFING

  A licensee must ensure that each employee (b) practices implementing the fire drill system at least once each month.

  Observation. Licensing reviewed the fire drills log and noted that the fire drill for month of June was missing in the 4 year old class group.

  Corrective action. Ensure fire drills are implemented at least once each month.

• STAFFING

  A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility as (a) an educator or an assistant unless the person holds a certificate issued under Division 2 [Employee Qualifications], which must be verified by the system maintained by the early childhood educator registry. (Educator or assistant certificate validation)

  Observation. Licensing reviewed 3 staff files and one staff file was missing a validation of ECE certificate.

  Corrective action. Manager said that she will validate the certificate.

  A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (a) a criminal record check for the person.

  Observation. During inspection licensing reviewed five staff files, of those one staff file contained a criminal record check that was not site specific.

  Corrective action. Please ensure to obtain a criminal record check that is site specific for each employee.
