(Educator or assistant certificate validation) Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Licensing reviewed staff file and a record of validation of ECE certificate was missing.

    Corrective action. Manager validated ECE certificate while licensing was on premise.

    A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (f) evidence that the person has complied with the Province's immunization and tuberculosis control programs.

    Observation. Licensing reviewed the practicum student's file who was on site for practicum and observed that it was missing a record of immunization.

    Corrective action. Ensure volunteer/practicum students files are complete.

Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Licensing reviewed staff file and observed an expired CRC. A new valid CRC was provided via email while licensing was on site.

    Corrective action. Manager printed valid CRC while licensing was on premise.

    Observation. During the routine inspection licensing observed that manager's ECE certificate was not posted. Manager said that she might have taken it off the wall to renew it and forgot to put it back up.

    Corrective action. Ensure the ECE certificate is posted in a prominent location.

    A licensee must: (b) have an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.

    Observation. During the routine inspection the manager mentioned that the facility does not have any food in their emergency preparedness kit. Manager said that she was not aware that the facility need to have food and water to prepare, mitigate, respond and recover from any emergency. Education was provided it was mentioned that the facility should have enough food and water to prepare, mitigate, respond and recover in case of an emergency.

    Corrective action. Please ensure that you are prepared for, ready to mitigate, respond and recover from any emergency.
