    Observation. During routine inspection it was noted that on a few dates in August the a time of departure has not been noted.

    Corrective action. Ensure arrival and departure times are present.

  • EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS

    A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

    Observation. During the routine inspection licensing observed that the fence at the back of the yard has been removed by the neighbor and the hole where the three/bushes used to grow have been covered with black rolling tarp that is supported by some wooden steaks. The hole is 3 feet in height and 5 feet length, however the fence is longer than 5 feet. Licensing could not measure the entire fence as a garden bed was in the way. It is important to note that although the hole is convered by the rolling tarp and supported by the wooden steaks the hole can be easily acessed by children.

    Corrective action. Please ensure that the fence is repaired and the facility is in a safe condition.

    A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (a) name, sex, date of birth, medical insurance plan number and immunization status.

    Observation. During the routine inspection licensing reviewed 7 children's files and all the files were missing the gender of the child.

    Corrective action. Please ensure the gender/sex of the child is noted in the files.

    A licensee must ensure that children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to the health or safety of a child.

    Observation. -An unsecured blind cord on the patio door, and an electrical cord for a music player located on the floor in the hallway, accessible to children, both providing risk of entanglement. -Children's pool filled with water in the outdoor play area. Please ensure to dump any standing water after each use. Licensee said she would be dumping the pool at the end of the outdoor time today.

    Corrective action. Please ensure that children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to the health and safety of a child.

    A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

    Observation. Observed: -2 storage cabinets inside, and one outside were unanchored to the wall in a manner that prevents them from falling. One shelf was anchored with a screw, however the screw has become loose over time. -One play mailbox toy was chipping and broken. Licensee removed the toy from play during inspection.

    Corrective action. Please ensure that tall shelving is anchored, and any toys are removed from play once they are broken.

    Observation. One facility file was reviewed, and file contained no verification for the early childhood educator certificate. Licensee completed verification during inspection.

  • EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS

    A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

    Observation. Licensing observed the following: - A kitchen play set showing signs of disrepair and chipping paint. -A piece of wood being used to block access to stairs going up to the house in the outdoor play space is splintered. -The amount of toys and equipment needs to be reduced in order to maintain sanitization and communicable disease control practices. -A play kitchen in the outdoor play space showing signs of dirt and mud accumulation. -Dishes used for the children's meal times are being hand washed not using the 3 sink method. A discussion with the Licensee indicated that the upstairs dishwasher will be used moving forward. -Craft items hung up on the wall, accessible to the children if children were to climb on the chair and desk.

    Corrective action. Ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times.

    The licensee must not permit a person over the age of 12 to be ordinarily present on the premises of a community care facility while children are present, unless the person is of good character and the licensee has obtained a criminal record check for that person.

    Observation. Licensee's husband's CRC has expired. A discussion with the licensee idicated they have applied for renewal. The Licensee's husband does not have contact with the children at the facility as care is provided on the downstiars level only.

    Corrective action. Ensure valid CRCs are on site for all individuals over the age of 12 ordinarily present in the facility.

    Corrective action. Ensure ECE certificates are validated.
