  • EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS

    A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

    Observation. Licensing observed: -In the fridge where children's food was stored, there was two paint rollers stored, partially inside a plastic bag. This was removed during inspection. -Two change pads had visible chips in the surface preventing effective sanitizing. -The vinyl climber located in the infant room had holes exposing the foam below, preventing effective sanitizing. -Wall in the GCC (30 months to sac) nap room had chips, exposing drywall below, near where a child naps, and would have access to the drywall. Licensee said she was aware of the damage, and was going to have this fixed.

    Corrective action. Please ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

  • EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS

    A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.

    Observation. In one classroom there were two spots where drywall was chipped, accessible to children. Manager stated that she would be attaching a bulletin board to the wall and repainting in the next few weeks.

  • RECORDS AND REPORTING

    A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (c) daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): During the inspection, licensing observed one child was signed into the Infant room, however, the child was attending the 3-5 room that day. Manager stated that the child was attending the 3-5 room for gradual entry for the day.

    Corrective action. Please ensure to enter in the time the child is signed out of the IT room and the time the child is signed into the 3-5 room.

    Observation. Six staff records were reviewed. One file was missing a Criminal Record Check for a staff for the site. Manager had submitted the application, however it had not yet arrived.

    Corrective action. Please ensure to obtain a criminal record check for the person.
