Observation. During today's visit, Licensing Officer observed the following: -immunization status has not been obtained for 1 staff -character references have not been obtained for 1 staff -record of staff's work histories have not been obtained for 1 staff This issue of non-compliance remains outstanding.

A healthy and safe environment is provided at all times [CCLR Sec. 13(1)].

Observation. In the outdoor play space, Licensing Officer observed a variety of equipment, play materials and toys accessible to children however the space appears to be cluttered. The current placement of the items poses a tripping hazard and risk of harm.

Furniture or equipment for sleeping is used by only one child at a time, is clean and comfortable, and is appropriate for the size, age and development of the children intended to use it. [CCLR Sec. 15(2)]

Observation. Licensing Officer observed the children's bedding is stored in a closet and it is stacked on top of one another which poses a risk of cross contamination.

Heated water accessible to children is heated to no more than 49° Celsius. [CCLR Sec. 47]

Observation. In the children's washroom, Licensing Officer observed the heated water accessible to children exceeds 49 degrees Celsius.

The fire drill system is displayed in a prominent place. [CCLR Sec. 22(3)]

Observation. Licensing Officer did not observe a fire drill system displayed in a prominent place in the facility.

A record for each child containing the date of enrolment in the facility is not kept. [CCLR Sec. 57(2)(b)]; A record for each child containing the name and telephone number of a parent, medical practitioner and emergency contact is not kept. [CCLR Sec. 57(2)(d)]; A record for each child containing the name, sex, date of birth, medical insurance plan number and immunization status is not kept. [CCLR Sec. 57(2)(a)]

Observation. Licensing Officer observed the following: -date of enrolment is not kept for 2 children -emergency contact is not kept for 1 child -medical insurance plan number is not kept for 6 children -immunization status is not kept for 3 children

The licensee has written, parental consent to release a child to someone other than the parent. [CCLR Sec. 57(3)(b)]

Observation. Licensing Officer observed two children's records in which the parent(s) have listed themselves as the emergency contact.

Maintenance of Equipment: A log is kept of all inspections, maintenance and repairs. [Director of Licensing Standard of Practice - Safe Play Space]

Observation. Licensing Officer did not observe that a log of all inspections, maintenance and repairs is kept for the facility.

A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility as an educator or an assistant unless the person holds a certificate issued under Division 2 [Employee Qualifications], which must be verified by the licensee using a system established and maintained by the director of the early childhood educator registry [CCLR Sec. 19(4)(a)]

Observation. Licensing Officer observed no evidence that ECE certificates for staff have been verified by the registry.

The emergency plan is not practiced at least once each year. [CCLR Sec. 22(2)(c)] ; Fire drills are not practiced at least once each month. [CCLR Sec. 22(2)(b)]

Observation. Licensing Officer did not observe evidence of the implementation of the fire drill system practiced once each month or the implementation of the emergency plan is practiced at least once each year.
