  The facility, the furniture, equipment, fixtures and supplies are of sturdy and safe construction.  They are easy to clean, and are clean and in good repair and free from hazards. [CCLR Sec. 13(2) and Sec. 15(1)(a)]

  Observation. Licensing observed two shelving units in the activity room that are not sturdy and a tipping hazard.

  Hazardous objects and substances are inaccessible to children. [CCLR Sec 17]

  Observation. Licensing observed two kitchen drawers to be containing knives and scissors. These items are hazardous objects and should be made inaccessible to children.

  There is an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency. [CCLR Sec. 22(1)(b)]

  Observation. Licensing observed that the facilities emergency supply food and water had expired.

  There is current log of minor incidents, illnesses and unexpected events, that did not require medical attention and were not reportable incidents described in Schedule H. [CCLR Sec. 56(1)(f)]

  Observation. Licensing observed that there has been no recorded incidents since 2019, Licensing reminded the Licensee the importance of documenting all minor incidents, illnesses, and unexpected events.

  Not in good repair.

  Observation. The gate noted in the previous inspection has not been repaired and does not self-close and latch. The gate opens to a steep set of stairs and then onto the street.

  The facility, the furniture, equipment, fixtures and supplies are of sturdy and safe construction.  They are easy to clean, and are clean and in good repair and free from hazards. [CCLR Sec. 13(2) and Sec. 15(1)(a)]

  Observation. The facility has cribs available for sleeping in an upstairs bedroom. Sometimes when the weather is hot, the children will sleep on mats on the main floor. The mats currently in use are foam with a fabric covering and a sheet on top. This does not allow the sleep mats to be properly cleaned and sanitized.

  Observation. The gate that is opposite the front door has a self-closing hinge, however the gate does not properly latch.

[CCLR Sec. 57(2)(d)]; A record for each child containing the name, sex, date of birth, medical insurance plan number and immunization status is not kept. [CCLR Sec. 57(2)(a)]

  Observation. Four children under 36 months were in care of the licensee.

  Emergency exits and fire drill system are approved by a local Fire Marshal. [CCLR Sec. 22(1)(a)]

  Observation. LO noted the fire extinguished had not been serviced since Dec 2019.

  The licensee has not obtained a criminal record check for all persons ordinarily present on the premises. [CCLR Sec. (20)(1)]

  Observation. CRC for 2 persons over the age of 12 who live on the premises was expired/ resources provided for the Licensee to submit a request for CRC
