  Prior to employing staff the manager has met with each person and has obtained the appropriate documentation. [CCLR Sec. 19(1)]

  Observation. Licensing observed the following: *two incomplete staff files with no immunization record, work history and references. *One of the educators' criminal record check was reviewed by VPD. Please note that all CRC must be cleared through the Criminal Records Review Program.   For each child requiring extra support, the licensee keeps a current care plan showing the required information. [CCLR Sec. 58(1)(2)]

  Observation. Licensing observed that a child with asthma had the information on their registration form and medication on site however, the facility did not have a care plan for the child. Licensing has provided the Asthma care plan resource with this report.

• PHYSICAL, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHING / Safe Play Space Standard of PracticeNon-critical

  Ground Surfacing: The depth of loose fill material (protective surfacing) meets or exceeds the minimum requirements of the Standard of Practice. [Director of Licensing Standard of Practice - Safe Play Space]

  Observation. Licensing observed the protective surfacing around the playgrounds climber did not meet requirements. This poses a risk of injury.

  A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility as an educator or an assistant unless the person holds a certificate issued under Division 2 [Employee Qualifications], which must be verified by the licensee using a system established and maintained by the director of the early childhood educator registry [CCLR Sec. 19(4)(a)]

  Observation. Licensing observed no verification for Educators on file. Verification can be accessed at https://earlychildhoodeducator.gov.bc.ca/Public/CertAndRenewal/Certificate_Validation.aspx. Once verified, please keep copies for every Educator on file.
