  • PHYSICAL, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHING / Play Area, Materials and EquipmentNon-critical

Observation. *Licensing observed the following in the outdoor play area: *A step stool inside the left side play house, that could lead to children climbing over fence to a steep drop on the other side. *Two separate sets of string light bulbs (one in each playhouse) were observed to be loosely hung from the roof rafters and reachable by climbing foot holds. This poses the possibility of entanglement. *Metal pans and tins, along with hooks attached to boarding, are all showing signs of rust.

This is a tipping hazard. *Two cords with curtains were observed at the end of the kitchen counter. The cords have become stretched and bowed and have created a loop that poses an entrapment hazard,

Observation. *CCFL observed a hose that was running along the top of the fence that had become unsecured creating a loop. This poses a risk of entanglement. *A shelf beside the "Sitka" house provides children access to climb over the fence leading to a steep drop of more than 5 feet on the other side. *2 boxes were observed to be placed inside the "Sitka" house providing an inviting climbing invitation to children to then get up on the window sill and ultimately a steep drop over the fence. The stools also provide access to a set of string lights. *Many of the wooden posts were observed to be rotten.

Ground Surfacing: The depth of loose fill material (protective surfacing) meets or exceeds the minimum requirements of the Standard of Practice. [Director of Licensing Standard of Practice - Safe Play Space]
