    Observation. Facility provides daily information sheets to parents that include toileting, mealtime, nap time, and other observations. However, a minor incident log is not kept by the facility staff. A discussion was had in regards to the importance of logging minor incidents, illnesses and unexpected events.

    Observation. *A large plastic garbage can located outdoors in the "art" area is full of rakes, push brooms and shovels and has become a tipping hazard. *The cord from the hepa filter in the main room was observed to be loose and unsecured. *CCFL observed a power bar with 3 items plugged in hanging loosely from a wall socket in the nap room. This is not a safe arrangement.

    Observation. *There is no covered container for soiled clothing or diapers in the washroom. *The staff washroom door was observed to be unsecured, allowing children access to staff personal belongings. *A hose by the outside gate was looped loosely around the hanger creating the possibility of entrapment.

    The facility, the furniture, equipment, fixtures and supplies are of sturdy and safe construction.  They are easy to clean, and are clean and in good repair and free from hazards. [CCLR Sec. 13(2) and Sec. 15(1)(a)]

    Observation. *During today's visit the dishwasher was broken. The Manager informed Licensing that a work order had been placed for the repair.

    All indoor and outdoor play materials and equipment accessible to children are suitable for the age and development of the children, safely constructed, free from hazards and in good repair. [CCLR Sec. 16(4)]

    Observation. *Licensing observed a small wooden bridge with four wooden spindles missing (two on each side of the bridge's handrails). The space created by the missing spindles is a potential entrapment hazard. *The decking on the small bridge in the outdoor play yard is rotten in some areas which has created soft spots and a tripping hazard. This item is no longer in good repair. *Several of the wood stumps and the bench in the outdoor play yard are rotten and deteriorated which could potentially cause splinters or other injuries. *A large wooden stump has been pushed up and secured against 3 smaller stumps in the outdoor play yard creating the possibility of a trip or foot entrapment hazard along the top surfaces.
