  There is an established program to instruct children in, and to practise the rules of, health and hygiene. [CCLR Sec. 46(1)]

  Observation. Licensing observed the children being supported by the Licensee through a hand washing routine. Licensing observed that a soap / water spray for cleaning the diaper change mat was not in place.

  Observation. Discussion occurred with the Licensee about the amount of time children have each day watching television or computer devices. Licensee informed that when preparations are underway for the children's lunch, an educational CD from the library is played for the children. Licensing inquired of the Licensee's screen time policy and learned that one is not in place.

  A healthy and safe environment is provided at all times [CCLR Sec. 13(1)].

  Observation. Licensing observed a bedroom closet without a lock and accessible to children. This poses a risk of injury and harm. Licensing recorded a fridge temperature of 15 degrees Celsius. This poses a risk of illness and harm. Licensing observed an accessible blind cord that was unsecured. This poses a risk of entanglement. Licensing observed a cord for a lamp loose and laying on the floor. Licensing recommend the door to the room where the lamp is located be closed to make the item less accessible to the children. Licensing observed materials being stored on a shelf above a toilet. The materials appeared to be over crowded and leaning over the edge of the shelf. This poses a risk of injury and harm.
