Observation. Licensing observed a care plan that accounted for a child who no longer requires a medication. When asking the manager about updating the child’s current care plan to reflect their current health condition, she informed that care plans can only be updated by a child’s parents through their registration portal. Discussion took place regarding communicating with the child’s parents to update the care plan accordingly and to ensure the child’s most updated health information is being reflected.

Observation. The program operates in the room that the preschool also uses. Licensing observed that the room is very preschool-focused. Licensing did not observe age appropriate or developmentally appropriate tables and chairs for school age children.

Observation. During the inspection Licensing observed that the cupboards with the materials, equipment and supplies were not open and accessible to the children. When Licensing inquired with the Manager the Manager stated that the cupboards get opened after snack and the group activity is completed. Licensing stated that the children should have the option to choose what they would like to do and have access to the materials, equipment and supplies throughout the time they are in the program. Especially if they do not want to eat snack or take part in the group activity.

Observation. Licensing Officer accompanied the children and staff when leaving the facility to take children to their school. Observed children being permitted to play on the school grounds without an inspection being conducted by the facility staff. Licensing Officer observed school staff inspecting the school grounds and removing various hazards however the facility staff are still required to conduct their own inspections.
