Hazardous objects and substances are inaccessible to children. [CCLR Sec 17]

Observation. Licensing observed the Licensee's toiletries/ personal care products left on the sink vanity top, making them accessible to the children. Discussed storing those items away in the sink base cabinet or in a closed container.

Heated water accessible to children is heated to no more than 49° Celsius. [CCLR Sec.47]

Observation. During today's visit, heated water temperature exceeded 49'C. The Licensee will contact the strata to address this issue.

The fire drill system is displayed in a prominent place. [CCLR Sec. 22(3)]

Observation. Licensing was unable to locate the emergency evacuation plan at the time of inspection. Discussed displaying the emergency evacuation plan in a prominent place to demonstrate compliance.

A record for each child containing the daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure is not kept. [CCLR Sec. 57(2)(c)]

Observation. Licensing and the Licensee discussed the following: -Ensure the arrival and departure times of each child are documented as required. (Licensing will provide a resource/template) -Licensing will provide an Immunization Status/ Information for Child Care to support the program in identifying those that may require exclusion in the event of an outbreak.

Maintenance of Equipment: A log is kept of all inspections, maintenance and repairs. [Director of Licensing Standard of Practice - Safe Play Space]

Observation. The licensee informed Licensing that the daily inspection of outdoor space occurs however this practice was not documented. Discussed implementing a system to demonstrate compliance.

All persons over the age of 12 that are ordinarily present on the premises while children are present are of good character and the licensee has obtained a criminal record check for each person. [CCLR Sec 20]

Observation. The Licensee's criminal record check has not yet been renewed. Discussed initiating the process as soon as possible.

Implementation of the fire drill system is practiced at least once each month, and implementation of the emergency plan is practiced at least once each year. [CCLR Sec. 22(2)(b)(c)]

Observation. Licensing was unable to review the record that accounts for the monthly fire drill and the annual emergency drill to assess compliance. Discussed posting the fire drill record by the door to demonstrate compliance.

The licensee keeps current records of each employee as required under Sec. 19(1). [CCLR Sec.56(b)]

Observation. On July 14 2025, Licensing observed that the Licensee's criminal record check and the first aid certificate had expired. This item has not yet been addressed.

The licensee keeps a current record for each child showing the information required. [CCLR Sec. 57]

Observation. Licensing was unable to review one child's file. The Licensee informed that this child's registration form is stored in her email however was unable to locate during the inspection. Licensing highly recommends keeping hard copies of each child's registration forms to ensure the information is readily accessible.

Observation. The Licensee's criminal record check and the first aid certificate had expired. Licensing will provide a resource to the Licensee to renew her CRC. The Licensee informed that her first aid certificate will be renewed soon.

The licensee keeps a current record for each child showing the information required. [CCLR Sec. 57]

Observation. Licensee let me know she is still gathering some records. Licensee reviewed documentation she currently has on file for each child. Licensee's records are mainly electronic though she wants to keep emergency consent cards in paper to carry with her on outings. Strongly support the creation of files for each child with their complete documentation. This can be done easily via paper or electronically. It will help organize information the Licensee currently has on her computer and make it easier to access. Licensee is in the process of obtaining hard copy, written Emergency Consent Cards. Licensee will also obtain the immunization records for two children in care. We reviewed the forms sent by CCFL prior to Licensing, highlighting which are required. Licensing said she is setting a deadline for herself, two weeks to have all documents signed and on file.
