    The facility, the furniture, equipment, fixtures and supplies are of sturdy and safe construction.  They are easy to clean, and are clean and in good repair and free from hazards. [CCLR Sec. 13(2) and Sec. 15(1)(a)]

    Observation. Several wooden stumps and logs appeared to show signs of decay and rot in the outdoor space. They are no longer in good repair and free from hazard.

    Observation. Licensing observed the following: * employee cubbies unlocked and accessible to children (considering that employees may have medication or products contained in their bags, as discussed, access to these cubbies are to be restricted) * peppermint deodorant spray accessible to children (addressed during inspection) * door to storage room, left ajar (addressed during inspection) * dangling electrical cord accessible to children in the home-living area * shaving cream to be used in an art / craft activity with the children (addressed during inspection) * unlocked cupboard located under kitchen sink - children's access to Cascade Power Clean, dishwasher tablets, Windex, VIM (addressed during inspection) * an emptied Downy soap dispenser / container was observed to have water inside and was available to children outside. (On inspection, the water was observed to have an amount of residue soap in it)

    The entire outdoor play area is enclosed and constructed in a manner that is suitable for the age and development of children, and ensures that children are free of harm. [CCLR Sec. 16(3)(a)(b)]

    Observation. In the children's outdoor play space, LO's observed a variety of equipment and materials such as a swimming pool, multiple empty plant pots, a roll of chicken wire, three pieces of plywood, a storage container lid, a child sized shopping cart and a large tarp which all appear to be cluttering the space next to the shed. Many of the items can pose a potential risk to children in the event that children play in this specific space.

    All indoor and outdoor play materials and equipment accessible to children are suitable for the age and development of the children, safely constructed, free from hazards and in good repair. [CCLR Sec. 16(4)]

    Observation. In the outdoor space, LO observed a green sensory table frame with no sensory basin. Manager advised that there is a plan in place to remove the sensory table frame from the outdoor space. In addition, LO observed a wooden table which appears to be in poor repair and no longer easy to clean. LO observed that the table is chipped along the edges, bubbling through the middle and the wood veneer is starting to lift.

    Observation. Conducted inspection with lead staff in preschool room. The yard overall is in satisfactory condition. The greatest asset, other than the view, is the large expansive sand box. Staff noted that with the latest wind and rain storm their outdoor water table smashed and their swimming pool blew away.
