  • PHYSICAL, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHING / Play Area, Materials and EquipmentNon-critical

The entire outdoor play area is enclosed and constructed in a manner that is suitable for the age and development of children, and ensures that children are free of harm. [CCLR Sec. 16(3)(a)(b)]

Observation. Licensing observed the following: - The fencing and gate on the east side of the house have a gap of approximately 6 inches between the ground and the bottom of the gate, which may pose an entrapment hazard. - Broken glass on the other side of the gate is potentially accessible to children. - An outdoor propane heater over 4 feet tall is not secured, posing a potential tipping hazard. - The propane tank valve is in a location that may be accessible to children. - A large plastic sheet is stored in an accessible area and may pose a suffocation risk. - A container of motor oil is stored in an accessible area. During the inspection, the Licensee noted that the outdoor play space is currently not in use by children while spring cleaning is underway. The Licensee stated that the group is currently going to local parks and playgrounds daily, and that this routine will continue until the onsite outdoor play space is in good repair and free from hazards.
