    The facility, the furniture, equipment, fixtures and supplies are of sturdy and safe construction.  They are easy to clean, and are clean and in good repair and free from hazards. [CCLR Sec. 13(2) and Sec. 15(1)(a)]

    Observation. In the downstairs preschool, LO observed the vinyl floors looking worn out in certain areas/ cracks present around the structural pole and kitchen area. This was a hazard for tripping and it was not feasible for cleaning and sanitizing accordingly. Picture attached in HH.

    The entire outdoor play area is enclosed and constructed in a manner that is suitable for the age and development of children, and ensures that children are free of harm. [CCLR Sec. 16(3)(a)(b)]

    Observation. Licensing recommended a physical barrier at the bottom of the stairs in the outdoor play space to prevent injuries while children are outdoors. Picture attached in HH.

    Observation. Licensing Officer observed a large wooden play structure in the outdoor play space that has areas of the structure where the finish on the wood had worn and required repairs and refinishing. Exposed and worn wood is a hazard and has the potential to produce splinters, causing injury to the children in care. Licensing officer also noted that several of the plastic pieces of the equipment appeared damaged.

    Fire drills are not practiced at least once each month. [CCLR Sec. 22(2)(b)]

    Observation. Upstairs preschool, LO noted the fire drill was not practiced and recorded for March and April 2021. An emergency drill was practiced and recorded once a year.
