Reviews
Both my daughter and my son attended this Japanese immersion preschool and we had a wonderful experience! The teachers are amazing. They take so much time preparing for the classes and letting us know about how the kids are getting on. The crafts are very well thought out to the kids development level as well as to the season and the Japanese culture. I can't recommend this preschool enough to the future parents out there that want their kids to have Japanese exposure during this vital stage of their life for language development.
Our son attended Donguri and he had an wonderful experience. It was important to us for him to learn in a Japanese cultural setting, which he thoroughly enjoyed. His Japanese language and cultural knowledge improved as well as his behaviour (Grandmother and grandfather were very impressed). The teachers are astonishingly creative and talented, providing excellent guidance with inventive projects. They're also very understanding about working with parents to address any unique issues, often finding very creative solutions to work on behaviours before they become a problem. I highly recommend it!
My daughter and son both attended Donguri Japanese preschool and there was nothing but consistency every single day. It is truly run like a Japanese preschool in Japan. My kids came home having learnt something exciting and new everyday which is a testament to the teachers. Can’t recommend enough. Not only did they help my daughter retain her second language when we moved back from Japan but they helped my son become fluent in Japanese outside of Japan which I didn’t think would be possible.
This school offers early childhood education unique to Japan, where children not only play and learn, but also learn the skills necessary for communal living, such as tidying up and cleaning, in a fun way. It's also great that, even though we're in Vancouver, we can learn about Japanese seasonal events and other things that are difficult to teach at home. We're always helped by the teachers' attentive childcare.
