    There is a diaper changing area that is adjacent to a wash basin, that is located away from the food preparation area, and that has a covered container for soiled clothing. [CCLR Sec. 14(4)]

    Observation. Licensing observed a covered container and a basket with used diapers in the washroom, which were causing an odor.

    When care is provided to any child younger than 36 months of age a separate sleeping area located away from any activity area is provided. [CCLR Sec. 15(3)]

    Observation. A conversation was held with the Licensee regarding making the upstairs nap room available for children to use for napping. Currently, children are napping in the activity space downstairs, and the proposed nap room located upstairs is being used by a family member.

    The entire outdoor play area is enclosed and constructed in a manner that is suitable for the age and development of children, and ensures that children are free of harm. [CCLR Sec. 16(3)(a)(b)]

    Observation. Licensing observed that the gate leading to the stairs up to the balcony was not locked, and the mesh gate to the side path by the house was also unlocked leading to hazardous materials that could be accessible by children. A conversation was held with the Licensee to ensure that both gates are locked prior to outdoor play.
