  There is an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency. [CCLR Sec. 22(1)(b)]

  Observation. Licensing observed the following: - Fire extinguisher is current in its servicing. - Families are preparing emergency kits for their child. Food items are expired. Licensing to be sending an emergency preparedness resource as requested. Licensee informs that they are considering additional supplies to be purchased.

  There is current log of minor incidents, illnesses and unexpected events, that did not require medical attention and were not reportable incidents described in Schedule H. [CCLR Sec. 56(1)(f)]

  Observation. Licensing observed a log book to be available, however, the last entry dated November 6, 2023. This log book is not current.

  Maintenance of Equipment: A log is kept of all inspections, maintenance and repairs. [Director of Licensing Standard of Practice - Safe Play Space]

  Observation. An inspection/maintenance log is available, however, the last entry was dated in December.

  Implementation of the fire drill system is practiced at least once each month, and implementation of the emergency plan is practiced at least once each year. [CCLR Sec. 22(2)(b)(c)]

  Observation. Fire drills are being completed and recorded monthly. An implementation of the emergency plan has not been completed in the past 12 months.

• PHYSICAL, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHING / EnvironmentNon-critical

  A healthy and safe environment is provided at all times [CCLR Sec. 13(1)].

  Observation. *The manager stated that the children's lunches are stored on the counter as there is not sufficient room in the fridge, however 2 of the children's lunches were inspected and found to be lacking ice packs required to keep perishable food healthy and safe throughout he day.

• PHYSICAL, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHING / Hazardous Objects and SubstancesNon-critical

  Hazardous objects and substances are inaccessible to children. [CCLR Sec 17]

  Observation. *CCFL observed the medicine cabinet in the washroom was unsecured allowing access to medications. (This item was corrected by the manager during the inspection) *Lysol wipes were observed to be accessible to children on the hallway floor.

  Observation. *At least 2 of the children's files listed the sole emergency contacts that are the parents. *The emergency contacts listed on the registration forms are not always consistent with the contacts listed on the emergency cards.
