Observation. Dish soap and plastic garbage bags located under kitchen sink were accessible to children at time of inspection. These items pose a risk to children in care if ingested (soap) or placed over their heads (bags) and therefore, must be stored in a manner so that they are not accessible to children in care at all times. Submit by April 29, 2025 written confirmation that children no longer have access to hazardous items.

Observation. Radon results have not yet been received for this site. Every child care facility is required to test for radon gas. Long term exposure to radon gas could increase risk of lung cancer. Submit by April 29, 2025 a written plan to ensure long term testing is completed.

Observation. Child registration records were reviewed at random during inspection. One care card number and one immunization status were found to be missing. This information is required for all children in care to ensure preparedness in the event that medical attention is required or an outbreak occurs. Submit by April 29, 2025 written confirmation that all child records include care card numbers and immunization status.

Observation. Fire extinguisher tags indicate that they have not received an annual inspection in 2023. This must be included as part of the annual emergency plan review to ensure all equipment is in good working order.

Observation. Two sandboxes located in the outdoor play area require covers to be used when not in use. This will help ensure a sanitary, safe environment for the children who use them. Protective surfacing is recommended for the use of the two climbing domes located in the outdoor play area. as per the Director of Licensing Standards of Practice - Safe Play Space. A safety plan for the use of these climbers are required if surfacing is not installed.

Observation. Child registration records were reviewed at random. Some were found to be incomplete. Missing information included immunization status, doctor name/phone number and signed emergency consent. All information is required to be on site prior to a child attending facility for care.

Observation. Fire drill records were reviewed. No documentation for drills carried out in 2023 could be located.
