  Observation. Licensing noted that the lid to the toilet tank is not present, and a temporary cover has been taped in place

• A licensee must (a) ensure that behavioural guidance is appropriate to the age and development of the child who is receiving the guidance.

  Observation. A child was grabbed by the hood of a zipped jacket, which caused the jacket to slide up and put pressure on the child's throat

  Corrective action. Manager will ensure appropriate behavioural guidance techniques are implemented at all times while children are in care

• A licensee must keep current records of each of the following: (f) a log of minor accidents, illnesses and unexpected events involving children, that did not require medical attention and were not reportable incidents described in Schedule H.

  Observation. An unexpected event with a child in care was not recorded in the facility recording system

• POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

  A licensee must keep current records of each of the following: (c) a record respecting compliance with section 22 (2) (b) and (c) [emergency training and equipment].

  Observation. Review of fire drill recording system it was noted that no fire drills have been practised and recorded for the months of January and February.

  Corrective action. Manager states a fire drill will be practised in the month of March

• STAFFING

  A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (f) evidence that the person has complied with the Province's immunization and tuberculosis control programs.

  Observation. Immunization status was not obtained for one or more employees.
