    A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

    Observation. The following was observed: -On the way to the bathroom within the Upper GCC 3-5 program, the roof has leaked, there are bins placed below the leak and lots of water damage including some black spots on the ceiling. Manager stated that this leak occurred about 1 week ago. -At the leak site, there was a ladder left unattended. Discussion had about this being accessible to the children in care. -Staff's personal belongings were stored on a small table by the fridge within the GCC 3-5 program, accessible to the children in care. -Under the water fountain in the basement by the washrooms there are some dark spots within the dry wall which appears to be possibly water damage. -Chair that is in disrepair was accessible within the outdoor playground (Corrected). -Thorns growing into the playground (Repeat)

    Corrective action. Please provide a written response to indicate how you will address the contravention noted above on or before January 27, 2026.

    A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.

    Observation. The following was observed: -Heat baseboard in upper classroom, some areas in disrepair with the metal coils expose and exposed metal edges. (Repeat) -Some areas along the curved wall where the paint is peeling and there is a hole within the wall. -Wood perimeter within outdoor play space has started to rot, making it unsteady and exposing a rusted nail (repeat) -Facility replaced the flooring in August, the perimeter baseboards have not been replaced, leaving various areas where the paint is peeling in the hallway that leads to the bathroom as well as a hole along the bottom of the flooring within the first stall of the bathroom in the basement. -Dirty stool within the basement GCC 3-5 bathroom.

    Corrective action. Please provide a written response to indicate how you will address the contravention noted above on or before January 27, 2026.

    Observation. There is no cover for the garbage can which can contain diapers.

    A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

    Observation. The following was noted at the time of inspection: -TV stand was not secured and can act as a topple hazard. -Bathroom cleaner was stored in the sink below the bathroom sink, accessible to the children in care within the lower bathroom. Staff removed cleaner at the time of inspection. -Garbage can in washroom which contains soiled diapers does have a cover. Outside: -Large metal nails at the back of the playgrounds that keeps the wood perimeter together was exposed. -Thorny bush has grown into the playground, accessible to the children.

The following was observed in the outdoor play space: -scattered garbage -a wooden chair that is in complete disrepair -the landscape ties on the north side are rotting and falling over; there are rusty medal rodes exposed -the bridge on the play structure is grimy and a slipping hazard for children

    Observation. Licensing observed the following in the outdoor play space: -the wooden border around the gravel area has one plank which has come loose and is posing a tripping hazard. -the wooden house in the outdoor play space is in disrepair with paint chips and splinters.

    Observation. At the time of inspection, the way the children were signed into the programs which did not reflect their physical location. Some children that were signed into the daycare room were attending the preschool room at time of inspection. A detailed conversation was had with the manager about the intent of accurate attendance records.

    Corrective action. Ensure attendance records accurately reflect children's attendance in which every program they attend during the day.

    A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

    Observation. Licensing observed: -The cots are stored in a manner that causes them to be a tipping hazard. The system implemented at the routine inspection which mitigated the risk of tipping was not engaged at the time of this inspection. Licensing provided suggestions on a long term solution to cot storage. -At the time of inspection, the outdoor play space was being used by the children in care. Licensing noted debris throughout the outdoor play space at time of inspection. The staff present could not describe a systems of yard check. Education was provided on the importance of ensuring that a yard check is conducted prior to the children using the yard. -A tall, heavy shelf was observed as not anchored, posing a tipping hazard. This shelf has been removed since the inspection and before the writing of this report.

    Corrective action. Ensure a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times.

    Observation. Licensing observed the following: -Some collected rain water in some of the equipment in the outdoor play space. -A tall piece of equipment on the gravel which has the potential to tip over. -Some debris in the outdoor play space. Licensing provided education on the importance of conducting playground checks before accepting children into care. -The children cots were set up in a manner which posed a tipping hazard (corrected during inspection). -A tall shelf in the over three classroom is not anchored posing a tipping hazard.

    Corrective action. Ensure a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times.
