    A licensee must ensure that each piece of furniture or equipment for sleeping (c) is appropriate for the size, age and development of the children intended to use it.

    Observation. Napping available and confirmed to be in use for a child in care is not suitable for their age and development. The LO reviewed this requirement at the time of the inspection.

    Corrective action. Ensure all equipment used for sleeping is age appropriate to the children intended to use it.

    Observation. Cannabis is stored in a room children do not have access to. It was discussed with the Licensee that cannabis that is not medical cannabis is not able to be stored on premise

    Corrective action. Ensure that there is no cannabis grown or stored on premise except medical cannabis.

    Observation. One child has a permission to administer medication form with "as needed" for the time. It was discussed with the Licensee that it should be a specific time or symptoms when the child would require the medication.

    Corrective action. Ensure that the medication is administered in the amount and time or specific symptoms as specified by the parent

    A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (a) a criminal record check for the person.

    Observation. 3 individuals living in the home did not have valid CRCs on file. The Licensee said that they applied for the CRCs in April, but have not received clearance. Licensee to follow up with the Criminal Record Check Review Program.

    Corrective action. Ensure valid CRCs are maintained at all times.

    Observation. Licensing observed three suspended electrical cords in the room where children nap, potentially accessible to children which pose a risk of entanglement.

    Corrective action. Licensee confirmed that children will not sleep in this space or have access to this space until the cords have been secured or placed outside of children's reach.

The following hazardous items were observed during today's inspection that were accessible to children; - Eye drops and hair dryer on the washroom counter -A pair of adult scissors was stored in the washroom drawer -Phone charger plugged to the wall and it was loosely lying on the floor -Recycled garbage bin full of pop cans in the play yard -Propane gas cylinder in the outdoor play area
