A licensee must supply equipment, furniture and supplies that are (b) located so as not to block or hamper an exit in the case of fire or other emergency. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): One of the two designated emergency egresses was blocked with a piece of equipment.

Corrective action. Manager arranged for both egresses to be free of any blockage.

A licensee must ensure that children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to the health or safety of a child. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Cleaning solution in an unlocked cupboard, accessible to children.

Corrective action. The cleaning solution was made inaccessible.

A licensee must establish a program to instruct children in, and to practise the rules of, health and hygiene. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): -Staff use a communal towel for hand drying.

Corrective action. Manager removed the communal towel and said the staff will use paper towel moving forward.

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (d) name and telephone number of a parent, medical practitioner and emergency contact.

Observation. One of three children's files did not contain an emergency contact.

Corrective action. The Manager said she will obtain the information from child's parents.

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (i) a photograph or digital image of the child, and other information that can be used to readily identify the child in an emergency.

Observation. One of three staff files reviewed did not have a photograph of the child.

Corrective action. Manager said she will obtain a photograph from child's parent.
