Observation. A wooden cubby by the window that is not secured. Potential to fall on a child and injure them.

11080 - CCLR s.15(1)(a) - EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to the health or safety of a child.
Observation. Licensing observed the following that are accessible to children in care; - a knife on the counter by the sink and an airfreshener aerosol bottle in a small kitchen area in the main play area - a airfreshener aerosol spray bottle in the diaper change cart
Corrective action. A corrective action plan to be submitted to Licensing on how this contravention has been addressed.
11200 - CCLR s.17 - EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.
Observation. Licensing observed the following; - a big carpet curling at one corner. Potential tripping hazard. - a tall fan in the main play room. Potential for it to fall on a child and injure them. - Many chairs stacked on top of another. The potential to fall on a child and injure them. One staff removed the chairs. CORRECTED.
Corrective action. A correct action plan to be submitted to Licensing on how this contravention has been addressed.
11010 - CCLR s.13(1) - HYGIENE AND COMMUNICABLE DISEASE
A licensee must establish a program to instruct children in, and to practise the rules of, health and hygiene. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Licensing observed that there were no paper towels, for children to dry their hands, in the bathroom where they were washing their hands.
Corrective action. The staff placed paper towels in a basket and in the bathroom for children to use.
15030 - CCLR s.46(1) - STAFFING
A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (a) a criminal record check for the person.
Observation. Upon a random review of three staff records, Licensing observed that criminal record checks (CRC) were not obtained for three staff. Licensing discussed and provided clarification to ensure that staff CRC are site specific and addressed to the Licensee for each facility. Sharing forms discussed.
Corrective action. A corrective action plan to be submitted to Licensing on how this contravention has been addressed.

Observation. The following were noted at today's inspection: -Toilet rolls and papertowel rolls were not stored in a sanitary manner (outside of the dispensers). -Boxes of un-assembled shelving was piled up by the back door, could act as a topple hazard.
