    A licensee must: (b) have an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.

    Observation. During inspection Licensing noted there was no food or water in their emergency supplies. A discussion was had with the Manager to ensure having sufficient food and water for 72 hours for all children and staff. Manager said she will update the emergency supplies.

    Corrective action. Please ensure to have sufficient supplies to respond and recover from an emergency.

  • EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS

    A licensee must ensure that all indoor and outdoor play materials and equipment accessible to children are (b) safely constructed, free from hazards and in good repair.

    Observation. Licensing observed a new swing set and a climber in the outdoor play area. The play equipment did not have appropriate protective surfacing under it and it was lacking safe fall zone around the swings.

    Corrective action. Please ensure that all indoor and outdoor play equipment accessible to children are safety constructed and free of hazards.

    Observation. Licensing observed Lysol gel in the washroom drawer accessible to children in care.

    Observation. The fire extinguisher tag was expired in August 2020. It needs to serviced and recertification is required.

    Corrective action. Please ensure that fire drill system is approved by within the meaning of the Fire Services Act.
