  A licensee must: (b) have an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.

  Observation. The fire extinguisher was not serviced annually.

  Corrective action. The Manager is aware and said she will ensure to have the fire extinguisher serviced.

• STAFFING

  The licensee must not permit a person over the age of 12 to be ordinarily present on the premises of a community care facility while children are present, unless the person is of good character and the licensee has obtained a criminal record check for that person.

  Observation. A criminal record check for a person over the age of 12 who is ordinarily present is not available.

  Corrective action. Please ensure to obtain Criminal Record Check for persons over the age of 12 who is ordinarily present.

• STAFFING

  A licensee must ensure that children have at all times immediate access to an employee who (a) holds a valid first aid and CPR certificate, provided on completion of a course that meets the requirements of Schedule C.

  Observation. Licensing noted that the Licensee's first-aid certificate was expired on 2021-04-06. The Licensee stated that she was not aware it was expired and will explore options to have it renewed.

  Corrective action. Please ensure that children have at all times immediate access to an employee who holds a valid first-aid and CPR certificate.

• EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS

  A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

  Observation. During today's inspection Licensing observed the following: -Child sized trampolines both indoors and outdoors. Both of these trampolines had multiple tears in the plastic fabric covering the springs exposing numerous springs. These tears/holes pose risk to children in care as a child could step into one of these holes or pinch their fingers in the exposed springs. -There were individual towels hanging in the kitchen area for each child. The towels were touching one another at the time of the inspection. The Licensee explained that the children use these towels for personal hygiene during snack/meal times, that they are rinsed daily and washed at the end of the week. This system poses potential cross contamination and hygiene concerns and alternate options were discussed with the Licensee.

  Corrective action. Ensure a healthy and safe enviornment is provided at all times.
