  Observation. The educator who was working did not have their certificate posted

  Corrective action. Ensure that every employee with an assistant or educator certificate is posted in a prominent area of the facility.

  Observation. The staff was unable to locate the policies and procedures at the time of the inspection

  Observation. The lower portion of fence is in disrepair, with nails exposed.

  Corrective action. Ensure that the fence is in good repair.

  A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.

  Observation. Observation of the outdoor play area noted that the fence is in disrepair, the lower portion of the fence is deteriorating from wood rot posing the risk of falling.

  Corrective action. Please ensure that the fence is in good repair.

  A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (d) name and telephone number of a parent, medical practitioner and emergency contact.

  Observation. Review of 6 children's files noted 1 missing a medical practitioner's phone number, there is a medical practitioner's name documented.

  Corrective action. Ensure files have all required information documented.

  A licensee must display in a prominent place in the community care facility both the licence, including any terms or conditions of the licence, and the name of the manager.

  Observation. Licensing observed that the Managers name is not posted as required.

  Corrective action. Please ensure that the Managers name is posted.

• POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

  A licensee must keep current records of each of the following: (d) written policies and procedures that are intended to guide employees in the care and supervision of children.

  Observation. Licensing discussed with the Manager that they pick up and drop off school age children to a nearby school. There is no transportation policy indicating that children are taken off site and the route for school pick up. Manager stated parents are aware that this occurs.

  Corrective action. Please ensure that a policy is developed to ensure parents are notified that children leave the facility and the route they take.

  Observation. 1/5 children's files reviewed was missing a doctors name and number. If a family doctor is not available, a preferred clinic is appropriate.

  Corrective action. Please ensure children's files are up to date prior to attending the facility.
