- EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.
Observation. Indoor: - the printer was sitting on the play room floor with the loose wire, potential safety concern Outdoor: - there is a loose metal rod sticking through the orange and blue plastic slide, does not look like an original piece to the equipment. It needs to be removed.
Corrective action. The manager will move the printer to the library onto the desk. The manager said the rod in the slide, holds together the slide and ladder
11010 - CCLR s.13(1) - EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.
Observation. There are areas in the play room where the paint has peeled off (repeat). The library has cut up holes in the walls that are exposed.
Corrective action. The manager will correct the walls and ensure they're in good repair.
11020 - CCLR s.13(2) - EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to the health or safety of a child.
Observation. The bleach and water spray bottle was sitting on the counter, in reach for children. The bleach bottle was under the sink and not locked, giving children easy access. In the bathroom, an open container of diaper cream was sitting by the sink, easily accessible to children.
Corrective action. The manager placed the bleach spray bottle out of reach and the cupboards will remain locked. The diaper creams will be placed in the cupboards, locked away.
11200 - CCLR s.17 - EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that any heated water accessible to children is heated to no more than 49° Celsius.
Observation. The water temperature is 53 degrees celsius.
Corrective action. The manager will get the temperature regulated below 49 degrees celsius.
11230 - CCLR s.47 - RECORDS AND REPORTING
A licensee must have in writing from a parent, and maintain at the community care facility, consent (a) to call a medical practitioner or ambulance in case of accident or illness if the parent cannot immediately be reached.
Observation. 1 of 5 children's files missing consent to medical treatment.
Corrective action. The manager will get the information from the family.
19190 - CCLR s.57(3)(a) - RECORDS AND REPORTING
A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (i) a photograph or digital image of the child, and other information that can be used to readily identify the child in an emergency.
Observation. 1 of 5 children's files did not have a photo.
Corrective action. The manager will update the child's file
19160 - CCLR s.57(2)(i) - RECORDS AND REPORTING
A licensee must keep current records for each child showing (a) the information set out in subsection (2), (b) if applicable, the information and agreements set out in subsections (2.1) and (2.2), and (c) the consents referred to in subsection (3).
Observation. There were 7 children present and 1 child's file was not available.
Corrective action. The manager said she had their sibling's file but not theirs, she will get parents to fill out the registration forms.
19060 - CCLR s.57(1)(a)(b)(c) - RECORDS AND REPORTING
A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (c) daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure.
Observation. The attendance records did not reflect the children present at the facility.
Corrective action. The manager said that she ran out of previous attendance sheets so used what she could find for the day, she will correct them so they reflect all present children.
19090 - CCLR s.57(2)(c) - RECORDS AND REPORTING
A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (d) name and telephone number of a parent, medical practitioner and emergency contact.
Observation. - 4 of 5 children's files did not have an emergency contact. - 1 child does not have medical practitioner information.
Corrective action. The manager will update the information with parents.

- EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.
Observation. The following was noted at today's inspection: -Areas within the facility where the paint has started to peel. Licensee started to fill in holes and re-paint some walls but only managed to paint one wall within the facility before they had an issue with the painter. There is still some walls with peeling paint in the play room (repeat) -Some walls which are in need of a cleaning as they are visibly dirty (by the bathrooms, around the doorway of the toy room, by the main entrance) (repeat). -The carpet within the toy room is in need of a deep clean. Licensee intends on having them cleaned in July. -Kitchen outside within the outdoor play area is in disrepair (piece of wood fallen off the bottom).
Corrective action. Please provide a written response to indicate how you will address the contraventions noted above on or before June 27, 2025
11020 - CCLR s.13(2) - RECORDS AND REPORTING
A licensee must keep, for each child requiring extra support, a current care plan showing the following information: (b) the courses of action recommended by health care professionals to address the needs of the child requiring extra support.
Observation. There is a child in care who requires a care plan. The child's registration form has some information in regard to the child's signs and symptoms and diagnosis. However, there is no course of action provided. Discussion had with Manager about creating the care plan with the parents. This is a detailed plan which is easy to access should the plan need to be followed by a staff.
Corrective action. Please provide a written response to indicate how you will address the contravention noted above on or before June 27, 2025
19220 - CCLR s.58(1)(b) - RECORDS AND REPORTING
A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (c) daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure.
Observation. Upon review of today's attendance, there are only 3 children signed into the program. One of those children has already left and has not been signed out. There are currently 5 children in care at the facility. There were 6 children in total who were in care. Discussion had about accurate attendance throughout the day.
