    Observation. A care plan with the course of action recommended by health care professionals for a child requiring an anaphylactic allergy medication is missing

    Corrective action. The manager will create one with the parents.

    Observation. An emergency drill has not been practiced within the past year and staff are not familiar with the emergency plan; including whether there are any emergency supplies on site or if there is a designated secondary location.

    Corrective action. The Manager confirmed by phone that she will review the emergency plan with all staff.

  • EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS

    A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

    Observation. Although there was one unlabeled bottle of a yellow solution in the cupboard, there was no sanitizing solution on site that the staff was aware of to clean/sanitize tables and equipment in the classroom.

    Corrective action. Ensure staff have access to cleaning and sanitizing solutions.

    Observation. The staff on site was unaware if there were emergency supplies on site in the event of an emergency. There was no documentation of emergency drills available for review.

    Corrective action. Ensure staff are familiar with the emergency response plan, including where supplies are stored, and that the facility is conducting and recording emergency drills.

    A licensee must keep (a) in the case of employees, all records required under section 19 (1) [character and skill requirements] for the entire time that the subject of the records is an employee of the community care facility.

    Observation. At the time of inspection there was one staff on site. Other than a first aid certificate, there were no other documents available for this staff member.

    Corrective action. The Manager will need to ensure that all staff documents are on site.
