  Observation. LO observed an old licence is displayed in the facility. Discussion took place to ensure the most recent licence is displayed in a prominent place in the facility.

  All indoor and outdoor play materials and equipment accessible to children are suitable for the age and development of the children, safely constructed, free from hazards and in good repair. [CCLR Sec. 16(4)]

  Observation. LO observed an adult walker in the activity area posing a safety risk.

  Observation. LO observed an emergency plan could not be located.

  There is current log of minor incidents, illnesses and unexpected events, that did not require medical attention and were not reportable incidents described in Schedule H. [CCLR Sec. 56 (1)(f)]

  Observation. LO observed a current log of minor incidents is not being maintained.

  Observation. LO reviewed children's records: - all children did not have a date of enrolment in the community care facility - 1 child did not have medical practitioner contact information Attendance records were observed for today however arrival and departure times for previous days could not be provided.

  Prior to employing staff the manager has met with each person and has obtained the appropriate documentation. [CCLR Sec. 19(1)]

  Observation. LO observed: - 1 staff did not have a record of work history - 2 staff did not have documentation to support their certificate was verified using a system established and maintained by the director of the early childhood educator registry. - 2 staff did not have evidence that they complied with the Province's immunization and tuberculosis control programs. - 1 staff has a criminal record check addressed to another facility. - 2 staff did not have character references.
