  Observation. While documentation for children’s records was observed, Licensing Officer noted that an emergency contact has not been obtained for 1 child.

• PHYSICAL, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHING / Hazardous Objects and SubstancesNon-critical

  Hazardous objects and substances are inaccessible to children. [CCLR Sec 17]

  Observation. During the inspection, the Licensing Officer observed the following: -cleaning equipment, including brooms, dustpans, a mop, and mop buckets, stored directly next to the toilets. Discussion took place with regards to a potential contamination risk and is not an appropriate storage location for cleaning supplies. -miscellaneous items were stored on the top shelf above the sinks. These items pose a risk of injury if they were to fall into the children’s area below.

  A record for each child containing a photograph or digital image of the child, and other information that can be used to readily identify the child in an emergency is not kept. [CCLR Sec. 57(2)(i)]; A record for each child containing the name and telephone number of a parent, medical practitioner and emergency contact is not kept. [CCLR Sec. 57(2)(d)]; A record for each child containing the name, sex, date of birth, medical insurance plan number and immunization status is not kept. [CCLR Sec. 57(2)(a)]

  Observation. During the visit, Licensing Officer observed the following: -photograph or digital image is not kept for 3 children -emergency contact is not kept for 2 children -medical insurance plan number is not kept for 1 child -immunization status is not kept for 3 children

  Observation. Licensing Officer observed three child files in which the parent(s) listed themselves as the emergency contact.

  Prior to employing staff the manager has met with each person and has obtained the appropriate documentation. [CCLR Sec. 19(1)]

  Observation. Licensing Officer observed a criminal record check for 1 staff is not addressed to the facility

  Observation. Notes from previous inspection visit: - LO observed that date of enrolment is not on file for several children. During today's visit the manager was not on site. LO will follow up via email regarding whether this issue has been addressed.
