    The facility, the furniture, equipment, fixtures and supplies are of sturdy and safe construction.  They are easy to clean, and are clean and in good repair and free from hazards. [CCLR Sec. 13(2) and Sec. 15(1)(a)]

    Observation. LO observed the following: • In one classroom, a bookcase has been secured to the wall, however the back panel of the bookcase is pulling loose, making the bookcase no longer secure. A small shelf unit stored on top of the bookcase is not secured. • In one classroom, a dirty broom and dustpan set is out in the classroom and accessible to children in care. Two sinks in the classroom appear dirty and in need of a clean. • In one classroom, there is a broken and sharp soap dispenser in the washroom. A corner protector on the classroom wall is secured with packaging tape that is peeling and deteriorating. • In one classroom, packaging tape has been used on a kitchen play set. The tape is peeling and deteriorating. A corner protector in the nap room is peeling from the wall.

    Observation. LO observed 3 classrooms that did not have an Infant Toddler Educator present. Staff stated that in 1 of the classrooms, the ITE was away sick. The other 2 classrooms did not have an ITE scheduled to arrive until 9 am and 9:30 am.

    Observation. LO observed: • counters and sinks in several of the classrooms are being used to store items, and appear cluttered and in need of a cleanup • a diaper change mat in one of the classrooms appears to be worn out and in need of replacement • shelf units in one classroom have packaging tape on the corners • a soft chair in one classroom has peeling and worn upholstery • in one classroom, an area of the washroom is being used for storage LO also observed that the floor in the front entryway of the facility was slippery due to water and snow/slush being tracked inside.
