  Observation. LO observed that the fire extinguisher in the gymnasium is expired and is in need of a service.

  Observation. LO observed no evidence of any diplomas, certificates or other evidence of the person's training and skills for 2 staff.

  Observation. On the carpeted area of the classroom, LO observed that children's back packs were piled on top of one another. Discussed with manager that storing back packs in this way poses a risk of cross contamination.

  First aid kits are readily accessible to all employees, including while care is provided away from premises. [CCLR Sec. 23(2)]

  Observation. LO observed that a First aid kit was not readily accessible to staff.

  Observation. In the classroom space, LO observed the corner of an area rug next to the staff desk is curling which poses a tripping hazard.

  Observation. LO reviewed children's records and observed that an enrolment date is not kept for each child.

  The licensee has written parental consent to call a medical practitioner or ambulance in case of accident or illness, in cases where the parent cannot immediately be reached. [CCLR Sec. 57(3)(a)]

  Observation. LO reviewed all children's records and observed that the licensee does not have written parental consent to call a medical practitioner or ambulance in case of accident or illness for each child.

  Implementation of the fire drill system is practiced at least once each month, and implementation of the emergency plan is practiced at least once each year. [CCLR Sec. 22(2)(b)(c)]

  Observation. LO observed that the facility does not have a fire drill system in place. LO observed that fire drills have not been practiced once each month and the emergency plan has not been practiced at least once a year.

• STAFFING / First AidNon-critical

  At all times children have immediate access to an employee who holds a valid first aid and CPR certificate, is knowledgeable respecting each child's medical condition, if any, and is capable of communicating with emergency personnel. [CCLR Sec. 23(1)]

  Observation. LO observed that the staff providing care to children does not hold a valid first aid and CPR certificate. The First aid certificate for the staff is expired.
