  Observation. Licensing Officer observed no evidence of completed criminal record checks on file for the licensee’s spouse and the two parents residing in the premises.

  Implementation of the fire drill system is practiced at least once each month, and implementation of the emergency plan is practiced at least once each year. [CCLR Sec. 22(2)(b)(c)]

  Observation. Licensing Officer observed no evidence that fire drills were practiced for the months of January and February.

  Children do not have immediate access to an employee who holds a valid first aid and CPR certificate described in the regulations. [CCLR Sec. 23(1)(a)]

  Observation. LO observed that the Licensee's First Aid certificate had expired.

  There is an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency. [CCLR Sec. 22(1)(b)]

  Observation. Lo observed that the program's fire extinguisher is overdue for servicing.

  Liquid hand soap and single use towels are not readily available at all hand wash sinks.

  Observation. LO observed towels hanging in the washroom for children to use after hand washing.

  The medications are not readily accessible to employees. [CCLR Sec. 53(1)(b)]

  Observation. LO observed that an EpiPen on site for one child had expired in November 2021.

• PHYSICAL, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHING / EnvironmentNon-critical

  The facility, the furniture, equipment, fixtures and supplies are of sturdy and safe construction.  They are easy to clean, and are clean and in good repair and free from hazards. [CCLR Sec. 13(2) and Sec. 15(1)(a)]

  Observation. LO observed that the washroom mirror and sink appeared soiled and in need of a clean.

• PHYSICAL, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHING / Heated WaterNon-critical

  Heated water accessible to children is heated to no more than 49° Celsius. [CCLR Sec.47]

  Observation. LO measured water temperature in the washroom at 63°C

• RECORDS AND REPORTING / Care PlansNon-critical

  Care plans are not reviewed at least once a year with a parent of the child requiring extra support and any person requested by the parent. [CCLR Sec. 58(2)(b)]

  Observation. LO observed an anaphylaxis care plan on file for one child. The plan was developed in 2019 and had not been reviewed/updated.
