  Observation. Licensing reviewed all staff files: - 1 staff had an expired criminal record check

  Observation. LO observed that an immunization status is not kept for 1 child.

  Observation. LO observed 2 children's records in which the parent(s) have listed themselves as the emergency contact.

  Upon agreeing to administer medications, a competent employee is available at all times to administer and document administration of the medications. [CCLR Sec. 53(3)]

  Observation. LO observed medication for a child with a life threatening allergy had a Request for Administration of Medication form attached however it was not completed.

• PHYSICAL, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHING / EnvironmentNon-critical

  The facility, the furniture, equipment, fixtures and supplies are of sturdy and safe construction.  They are easy to clean, and are clean and in good repair and free from hazards. [CCLR Sec. 13(2) and Sec. 15(1)(a)]

  Observation. The following was observed by LO: -carpet in the cubby space is stained, soiled and unravelling along one side posing a tripping hazard -2 vinyl mats appear to be in poor repair as the corners and the seams along the side are ripped, torn and exposing the inner sponge material. The ripped and torn areas are being held together with duct tape and they are no longer easy to clean. -dramatic play kitchen and dress up wardrobe equipment appears to be in poor repair. There are indentations along the wooden edges, the paint is chipped and it is no longer easy to clean.

  Heated water accessible to children is heated to no more than 49° Celsius. [CCLR Sec. 47]

  Observation. In the children's washroom adjacent to Classroom 1, LO observed that the water temperature of the hand sink exceeds 49 degrees Celsius.

  There is an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency. [CCLR Sec. 22(1)(b)]

  Observation. In the cubby area, LO observed that the fire extinguisher is expired as of November 9, 2022 and has not been serviced.

  All persons over the age of 12 that are ordinarily present on the premises while children are present are of good character and the licensee has obtained a criminal record check for each person. [CCLR Sec 20]

  Observation. LO observed that a criminal record check on file for 1 staff has expired.

LO observed that Care Plans for children with allergies did not appear current and were missing information : - A child's care plan included the administration of medication; however, did not include the time or amount to administer - A child's care plan stated that medication was not required; however, also included instructions for administration of an EpiPen - A child's care plan stated that the child's EpiPen has expired
